Offload to God to get your Peace Back!

Learn how to offload to God to get your Peace Back!
God is a good God and wants us to have a real relationship with Him through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Not where we just do duty going to church on a weekend, or say the odd prayer here and there or even if we say head prayers every day. He wants a deeper more meaningful relationship with us His children. God wants to be invited into our everyday life and even into the messy stuff.  He wants the relationship with us where we give Him all the burdens, fears, worries, anxieties and even the traumas we’ve experienced. Then when we offload to God He will give us His peace and bring us to a place of rest. He is a God who gives!

Matthew 11:28 ” Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest”

KEEP SHORT ACCOUNTS

Peace is my umpire.  When I’m in His peace I operate from that place of peace and rest, knowing who I am in God, that He loves me unconditionally and that I’m under His Amazing Grace. I’m aware He has the best planned for me! I don’t need to worry or be in fear any more. As soon as something crops up I try to give it to God immediately, keeping short accounts with Him. But if a situation arises where I’ve lost my peace completely I need to go to the back to God and offload so I can get my peace back. Usually, its because I’m either cluttered, striving, or have taken too much on.

MIRY CLAY

God knows life as isn’t always plain sailing. He knows even a good day can leave us feeling overloaded and frustrated, so we need to recognise the early warning signs because if we don’t come in at this point to be ‘refreshed in the Lord’ we will end up burnt out, drained and in pits, we should never be in. Psalm 42:2 tells us that “He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps”

If you are in the miry clay, you could be feeling despair, hopelessness, depression, anxiety and maybe even worthlessness. We can fall so far down deep in the mud that we are completely overwhelmed by the situation or the circumstance that presents itself to us. We won’t be able to think straight, get a plan or seek the Lord’s wisdom as we just wouldn’t hear Him over the mental traffic of the situation or circumstance. Does this sound familiar?

SURRENDER

When I’m doing prayer ministry or spiritual direction with anyone, I like to ask them to give everything to God, surrender and offload so they can get back to a place of peace! Because more often than not they will be consumed with what’s going on and we’ll then spend the time going over that rather than getting to what the Holy Spirit actually wants to do.

So you need to go to a place where you’re comfortable speaking out, that maybe your prayer closet, bedroom, office, car or even the bathroom. It doesn’t matter where.

1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you”

I usually start by telling God how I’m feeling, giving him the emotions, fears, worries, anxieties and then I explain the situation and the circumstances: whatever or however it is I’m real with Him, I’m Honest with Him as He knows it all anyway – remember this is not for God’s benefit but yours. God knows and God sees. You are getting rid and offloading.

The Holy Spirit may lead you to repent of something – be open to all that He’s showing you and spend time getting right with God.

Or if someone has upset me or offended me, I know God doesn’t like it but He always has a plan for healing and restoring me. I will forgive that person, not for their benefit but mine as I can’t afford to have feelings about anyone else that God doesn’t have. I will then go through with the Lord what happened, what they said and what they did and how it made me feel. Not to wallow in it but to offload it.

Refuse the Enemy’s ‘Pity Party’ Invitation

If you feel you’re starting to feel sorry for yourself then stop! Don’t end up in a worse mess and a deeper pit! Self-pity isn’t pretty and needs dealing with! Refuse the devils invitation to his pity party. Repent and ask forgiveness for feeling sorry for yourself!

Sometimes righteous anger will rise up in me if the Holy Spirit has revealed it’s a Spiritual Warfare issue, then I will use my God-given authority to rebuke the enemy and bind and cast out as He leads. Our fight is not what we see nor is it people, situations, circumstances they are not our problem – the enemy is and we cannot fight him naturally, we need to use supernatural weapons.

I may also do some air punches or let out a scream if I need to. I can’t afford to bottle in toxicity or supress negativity. It has to come out in that safe place with God or it will come out in my life whilst I’m around other people. Those close to us will usually bear the brunt, then the enemy capitalises and brings in more division and then strife reigns.  Just give it to God and let Him lead – don’t be embarrassed.

PROPHETIC ACTION

Once you have given the Lord all the details. (I will usually tell him I’m handing them over because I don’t want to feel mythered or bothered with it anymore!) Physically hand them over, doing a prophetic action with an imaginary basket! (No one sees but God!!) I imagine I’m placing everything in the basket and then laying it at the foot of Jesus Cross – because he died for it anyway.

I will break all unhealthy soul ties and attachments with the person, circumstance or situation and I take the sword of the spirit, again I will do a prophetic action and I ‘cut off’ from the whole thing.

BALANCE

By this point I will usually start to feel my balance coming back and peace resuming. Staying in that place of peace and rest knowing that God knows me, loves me and has the best plan for me. I will then Praise God and thank Him for delivering me. I may sing and let His presence fill me. The situation or circumstances may not have changed but I have and peace floods my soul so I can then hear God and listen for His wisdom, direction and prompting. Jesus is the wisdom of God. (1 Corinthians 1:24)
